Earth Day 2019 Beach Clean-up Report:
A team of 15 volunteers from the Noyo Center, Surfrider and the public helped clean the City of Fort Bragg owned, Noyo Harbor Beach on Saturday, April 20th and collected over 110 pounds of trash (including 131 cigarette butts and over 500 pieces of plastic and styrofoam).
All trash collected at Noyo Center events is tallied and the data entered into a national database that tracks beach trash collection around the world. Please visit the Ocean Conservancies website at coastalcleanupdata.org to view reports on clean-up data from any coast in the world.
We Need Your Help on Our Monthly Beach Clean-Up!
Growing out of our very successful Tsunami Debris Survey program, the Noyo Center has initiated a permanent beach clean-up program. Our beach stewards are making our beaches more pleasant for visitors and safer for coastal marine life. We host a group walk at 10am every first Saturday of the month at Noyo Harbor Beach “Dog Beach” so newcomers can learn what we do and how to report their findings.
