With Sue “Magoo” Coulter and Janet Self
Saturday Nov. 23rd
at the Discovery Center, 338 N. Main St., Fort Bragg
11am-12pm- Make Your Own Wrapping Paper
All ages welcome…Drop-in anytime…Free event! (Donations appreciated)
Want the fun and excitement of ripping wrapping paper off a present, but don’t want to contribute to the landfills? Join us for a day of decorating plain paper, which is both recyclable and/or safe to burn in your fireplace. We’ll have a variety of paints, stamps, and design ideas, and you can bring the whole family to get creative with your holiday wrapping paper.
1-3pm- Lino-block Holiday Cards
Ages 12 and up…Pre-registration preferred…$15 materials fee
(Materials fee includes your very own lino-block + 10 printed cards)
This workshop will explore the methods behind print-making, and you’ll have the opportunity to design and make your own lino-block to use for years to come. Have you ever noticed how many gift cards come in a plastic sleeve? Or are printed on shiny (plastic-coated) material? With your own lino-block and a few tips from artists Janet Self and Sue Coulter, you’ll be well on your way to making beautiful, one-of-a-kind holiday cards for friends and family. Once they have been appreciated and enjoyed, they will biodegrade rather than contribute to our global plastics problem–a win-win for all!
We hope you can join us for a couple of hours of crafting with our community–and a chance to cultivate a tradition of sustainability into your holiday season.
