Blue Whale Bones on Display!
March 12-20. Noyo Center’s 73′ blue whale bones will be on display near the Crow’s Nest Interpretive Center. For hours and more information visit BLUE WHALE EXHIBIT.
March 12-20. This event will get us outside to learn more about the magnificent Mendocino coast, gray whales, migration, citizen science, and all we do at the Noyo Center for Marine Science. You have up to 9 days to complete the hunt. Gather you family and friends as a team or go it alone but get out and explore! More information HERE.

Gray Whale Research
Saturday, March 12, 10 am – 4 pm. Noyo Center welcomes our colleagues from the
Mendonoma Whale and Seal Study to the deck of the Crow’s Nest Interpretive Center
as they continue their research on migrating gray whales (weather permitting).
Stop by when walking the Fort Bragg South Coastal Trail to chat with a naturalist.
Guess the Weight of Whale Bones
March 12-20. Visit the Discovery Center in Fort Bragg and try your luck guessing the weight of a gray whale skull, and visit the blue whale bones display near the Crow’s Nest and try guessing the weight of a blue whale whale scapula.

Whale Watching Trip to Sea – SOLD OUT
March 24, 10am. Join a Noyo Center expert and Telstar Charters on a Whale Watching trip to sea from Noyo Harbor. Registration is limited to 22 people. $30 for adults and $20 for students. Student registrations receive priority. To register, contact Sarah Grimes at [email protected].
Guided Whale Walks
Join one of our docents for a walk along the Noyo Headlands trail to the Crow’s Nest, watch for migrating whales, and learn about the gray whale migration.

Marine Science Exhibits and the Ocean Immersion Dome
The Discovery Center is filled with interesting exhibits, including the Ocean Immersion Dome, which has lots of amazing new videos and a touchless interface that allows you to choose your viewing experience. We’re even livestreaming a hydrophone in Monterey Bay with a spectrogram! Visit the Discovery Center, Thursday – Monday, 11AM – 5 PM, 338 N. Main St.
