100 Women Strong Mendocino Coast is Thursday, October 19. Join us!

The Noyo Center for Marine Science is excited to announce it is one of three local nonprofits nominated for 100 Women Strong’s giving event on the Mendocino Coast, being held on Thursday, October 19.

100 Women Strong is a global movement of women committed to impacting and amplifying individual
efforts through collective giving. 100 Women Strong events have been held in the inland Mendocino
County since 2019, raising over $200,000 for 10+ nonprofits. A small, dedicated group of women began planning a coastal launch and held the first event in May of this year. With over 125 individual contributions, the event raised $16,500, with $10,000 going to the awarded organization Xa Kako Dile:, and the remainder split between Action Network and Flockworks. Visit 100 Women Strong Mendocino Coast's WEBSITE to learn more.

The model gathers 100+ community members (all genders welcome) and asks each person (or group of people) to donate $100. It culminates in a celebratory event during which three nonprofits present a 5-minute pitch, followed by 5 minutes of audience questions, for the funds. Once the organizations have presented, the attendees will vote, and all donations up to $10,000 will go to the winning nonprofit. Any dollar amount over $10,000 is split between the other two organizations, so if more people get involved then it means that all three nonprofits have an opportunity to be awarded money.

We appreciate your support and hope to see you at this great community event!
